$300,000,000 Dust

Scientists have spent the best part of their career and $300,000,000 collecting cosmic dust. Apparently, this helps them to understand the origins of the solar system and even the universe so it seems a small price to pay to spend $300,000,000 going into space to collect some dust and it seems that two pieces of dust have caught their attention. Yes 2 pieces of dust collected from space for a cost of $300,000,000.

Now correct me if I’m wrong but tons of this frigging stuff lands on Earth every day, about 40 tons per day in fact. You can scrape it … Continue Reading

Gone All Orange

Now that I’ve changed the theme to a nice bright orange doesn’t mean I’m going to moan an less. However, this video on Youtube did make me smile a little. Not much though, just a little.

Facebook Uh!

Imagine a world where you can pretend to be popular. Imagine a world where you can have hundreds or thousands of friends. Imagine a world where you can spend 20 minutes drafting a witty off the cuff comment. Imagine a world where you spend another 20 minutes waiting for an equally witty reply.

Imagine a world where you only actually know about 1% of your friends and world where only 1% of your friends are actually friends and not just some random stranger adding you to a friends list in order to bump up their number of friends to prove that … Continue Reading

I’m Just Being Honest

Ever met anyone who takes great pleasure in pointing out the faults or flaws of others, making the most hurtful and degrading comments and then justify it by saying, “Well, I’m just being honest.” They even wear that phrase like a badge of honour, almost as if it’s something to be proud of.

Well actually no, you aren’t just being honest! What are you doing is using that phrase as an excuse for your rude, obnoxious and self righteous attitude, for your complete lack of self awareness and inability to socially interact without acting like the spoilt twat that you are. … Continue Reading

Off Booze and Drugs? So What!

Why is it that recovering alcoholic and drugs addicts expect praise and a big pat on the back for giving up something they should never have been addicted to in the first place?

OK, I’m not entirely unsympathetic and I appreciate that people are able to turn their lives around and get back on an even keel. Good luck to you if you have done that. But don’t and I mean DO NOT expect praise for it. You should simply get on with your life and then start making amends for all the times you were arrogant, selfish and generally behaved … Continue Reading

Educational Channels for Idiots

If you are like me, you may enjoy watching ‘educational’ channels such as the The History Channel and Discovery Channel etc. They do have some interesting programmes but some of them are just so pointless, it makes you wonder why they make them in the first place. In case you are wondering, I’m on about those doomsday scenario programmes with titles such as Comet Impact and Mega Volcano and of course Global Warming. But other endo fo the world scenarios feature such as Nostradamus’ prophecies (despite the fact that not a single thing has been predicted by him).

Paris Hilton the Pointless Celebrity

Surely, Paris Hilton must be the prime example of pointless celebrity. What is it she is famous for? I don’t know about you but I haven’t yet worked it out. I know she made a couple of films and made some weird scratchy gargling noises that she passed of as singing, or was that the sound track of the infamous video? It’s difficult to tell the difference. Oh, and a bit of modelling apparently but they all came after her fame, not before it. Now correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that the wrong way around?

HDMI Cables – Consumer Mugging

Imagine walking into a well known high street shop and being virtually mugged by the sales assistant. It happens believe me. OK there’s no violence or real theft according to the law but if you fall for it you will feel every bit as violated as if you were mugged for real. Probably worse because there’s not much you can do about it if you fall for the scam. Maybe it’s not illegal but it is immoral and unethical.

I just bought myself a brand new HDTV so what I So what have I got to moan about you might ask. … Continue Reading

Speed Limits. Ban Them.

35mph in a 30mph zone and it cost me £60 and 3 penalty points on my licence. Yes licence with a ‘c’, it’s a noun in proper English. It was a Sunday morning, an empty straight road so why is it such a crime to go over the speed limit slightly? And before you say it, yes I know rules are rules but minds that demonstrate such inflexibility, blind acceptance of rules and inability to think beyond what they are told are dangerous fools and I’ll tell you why. Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the … Continue Reading

Too Busy to Fiddle My Expenses

I’m sure you remember the spring and summer of 2009 as the year when a significant number of Members of Parliament were caught with their grubby little paws in the public purse. Some of the claims were quite funny such as John Prescott’s two toilet seat claims. That still doesn’t excuse the immoral and and in my view, blatant exploitation of position by a corrupt and immoral bunch of hypocrites.

If you haven’t thought about it too much, it’s not the amount of money involved in the fraudulent claims that’s the real issue here. Although in some cases the amounts were … Continue Reading
